Umoh Etido
(born November 22, 1994), also known as Tido, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and recording artist. He is known for his introspective lyrics that cross various genres, including 
Afrobeats, rap, and gospel. Based in Abuja, Nigeria, Tido has been steadily building his reputation as a musical artist, poet, and creative collaborator. Since his early years, he has released a string of songs, gaining attention in his local music scene and beyond.


Early Life and Education

Umoh Etido was born and raised in Kubwa, Abuja, Nigeria. He attended Government Secondary School, Bwari, Kuduru, from 2004 to 2010, where he completed his junior and senior secondary education. He later enrolled at Chrisfus Hillcrest Schools, Karu, Nasarawa State, in 2011, where he completed his WAEC.


Etido pursued his tertiary education at the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics in 2018, graduating with Second Class Upper Honors and a 3.8 CGPA. During his time in university, he was actively involved in student organizations, serving as the Secretary General and Librarian of the Nigerian Economics Students Association (NESA) and as the President of the Creative Writers Forum (CREWF). His leadership roles helped cultivate his skills in organization and public relations, which later translated into his career as a recording artist.



Musical Career

Etido's musical journey began at the age of 11 when he started writing rap lyrics. He honed his talent by participating in various musical groups and choirs throughout his university years, including the Joint Christian Campus Fellowship (JCCF). His first professional breakthrough came in 2017 when he featured in the song Burst My Head alongside Michael Hassan, also known as Remzy. The song quickly gained popularity in his university and was played across Nasarawa State at various events and clubs.


Building on this success, Etido went on to collaborate on several other songs, including "Go Down Nah," "FULafia Girls," "Twale for Mama," "Hold Me Up," "Your Love," "Street Pay," and "Supernatural.", among others. His first official single, Omosewa, was released in 2018. That same year, he led the song Stronger, performed by a group of graduating students at the Federal University of Lafia.


Post-Graduation and NYSC

After graduating in September 2018, Etido joined Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which he completed in 2019. During this time, he continued to create music while balancing his duties as a worship leader in the Assemblies of God Church in Kubwa, Abuja. Notable releases during this period include The Fires of Heaven, a gospel track that further solidified his presence in the Nigerian music scene.


Career in Customer Support and Data Analysis

In addition to his music career, Umoh Etido has worked extensively in customer support, telesales, and quality assurance. He began his career at Outsource Global, where he served as a Quality Supervisor, overseeing various projects and ensuring adherence to high-quality standards. Later, he joined Miva Open University and The uLesson Group, where he took on roles in quality assurance and data analysis, using tools like Google Data Studio to transform data into actionable insights. His expertise in customer engagement and sales has helped enhance the performance of multiple teams.



Recent Musical Works and Collaborations

While working professionally, Umoh Etido continued to produce music and collaborate with various artists. In 2022, he collaborated with MOCEOL on songs such as Only Human, All A Dream, and Tuesday. He had previously collaborated with OMD Nippy Gin in 2019 on tracks like Blood Black and Wanting. Other singles he released include LUH U (with Stein), Oya, and Mama’s Prayers.


Etido also released The Acknowledgement Song Freestyle in 2020. His most anticipated project, QUESTIONS (Rake Over), is currently in the works and is expected to make waves on social media platforms. The song was produced by Wanah (Play that W) and mixed and mastered by Moceol.
